I Am A Party
A conceptual lyrical video for the song I Am A Party by Fred Again... In this song Fred Again... samples Sabrina Benaim, a poet and mental health advocate. In her spoken-word poetry, she speaks about loneliness, depression, and the struggles of explaining these feelings to someone.

Concept Development
The song's name is a play on "the life of the party" and talks about trying to put on a brave face while internally being overwhelmed or feeling disconnected. A duality a lot of us have experienced before. The tension between social expectations and personal emotions. This duality/tension is what I set out to highlight by using a sans serif typeface often seen as emotionless against a gritty self-made tactile typeface. Further enhancing this by using only black & white.
The Process
Before this project, I had never truly experimented with tactile techniques, so I approached it with a mix of excitement and apprehension. Once I got started, I had a lot of fun experimenting—messing around and discovering different ways to create textures in the type. Unfortunately, that excitement came to a sudden halt when I imported my work into After Effects and realized that many of the textures didn’t translate as well as I had hoped. This setback forced me to restart the entire process, but the second time around, I was able to focus on the techniques that worked best, which made the outcome even more rewarding.
